Windows 10 21H2 update: may be Microsoft’s last feature update for it!

Windows 10 has undergone many changes, but the core look and feel remains the same. Whether you pick up a brand new device or a device that has not been updated in a few years (the last version officially supported by Microsoft is May 2018), the experience is roughly the same. In its current state, Windows 11 still feels like a feature update of Windows 10, but the actual new features of the operating system that Microsoft is about to replace are relatively insignificant. Let’s take a look at this Windows 10 21H2!

release time:

Microsoft has confirmed that the 21H2 update will be informally referred to as the “November 2021 Update.” This keeps it in line with previous Windows 10 feature updates, which are usually released in October or November. The exact date is unclear.

Will my Windows PC get the 21H2 update?

It almost certainly is. If your PC can download the 21H1 update, there is no reason why you cannot get the 21H2 version. Microsoft may have updated the hardware requirements for Windows 11, but there is nothing to worry about with Windows 10. However, it may be the same as the previous update, and you may need to wait patiently. As we all know, Microsoft restricts the availability of feature updates to manage demand, so your PC may take weeks or even months after the official release date to qualify.

Windows 10 21H2 update new features

This is not to say that Windows 10 will not receive more attention, Microsoft has already carried out the 21H2 update. However, it may eventually become the last feature update of Windows 10, even if the operating system will continue to be officially supported until 2025.

In the same official blog post as above, Microsoft only revealed three notable new features:

Add WPA3 H2E standard support to enhance Wi-Fi security

Windows Hello for Business supports a simplified no-password deployment model, which can be deployed to a running state within a few minutes

GPU computing support in Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) and Azure IoT Edge for Linux on Windows (EFLOW) deployments for machine learning and other computationally intensive workflows

These are useful features, but they are unlikely to have a significant impact on the way you use your Windows 10 PC on a daily basis.
