Pair your new Apple Watch with iPhone

Set up your new Apple Watch
Next, you will decide whether you want to set up your Apple Watch as a new device or restore it from a backup of your old watch. If you restore it from a backup, you will be able to select your backup on the next screen. To set up your device as a new watch, you must first agree to Apple’s terms and conditions.
Setting up an Apple Watch as a new watch also means that you will be asked to customize various settings and preferences, from the font size of the watch to the way the application is displayed. You can change many of these settings later in the Watch app on your iPhone or in the settings menu on your watch.
After agreeing to the terms and conditions, you will see a screen explaining that your watch shares location services with iPhone, Siri, Find My iPhone, and analysis and improved settings. Then Apple will notify you that Apple Watch will automatically install software updates. If you want to change this setting, please click “Continue” or click “Manually install updates”. It is usually a good idea to keep automatic updates turned on, because software upgrades often bring important security and bug fixes.
Now you will have the opportunity to set up Apple Pay. Press “Continue” to add your card to your watch. If you want to skip this step for now, you can also set it up later by clicking the button near the bottom of the screen.
Next, you will learn more about the emergency SOS feature of Apple Watch, which allows you to call emergency services by pressing and holding the side button. When you are ready to continue, click the “Continue” button. If you are setting up Apple Watch Series 7, Series 6, or Series 5, the next screen will explain the always-on display feature of Apple Watch. This allows the screen to stay on even when your wrist is down and the display is idle. You can also turn off this feature later in the “Settings” menu.
On the next screen, Apple will ask if you want to install the watch app that matches the apps already on your phone. Press the “Install All” button to load these applications onto your watch immediately, or press the “Select Later” button to select the applications you want to continue using.
The last step will ask you how you want to view your application library on your watch. The grid view displays your apps as small bubbles on the watch app screen, while the list view arranges them in alphabetical order. Now, you just need to wait for the Apple Watch to sync. When you’re ready, you’ll receive a reminder so that you can continue to use your phone as usual.
