The next pair of headphones that Sony is about to launch will most likely be the Sony WH-1000XM6. They haven’t been officially announced yet, but thanks to some recent filings with the FCC, we now know they’ll be available soon.
The images accompanying the filings show a pair of wireless headphones with removable ear pads, similar to what we’ve seen on other high-end headphones like the Apple AirPods Max. The specs, while limited, claim that these new headphones will support Bluetooth version 5.3. That’s a bit behind the latest version of Bluetooth (version 6.0), which launched last September, but it’s new enough to support all the latest codecs, including Bluetooth LE, which should help ease the drain on theSony WH-1000XM6 Headphones Battery.

Google’s Pixel 9a is coming, reportedly set to be announced on March 19 and available on March 26.
The upcoming phone will bring more of the same, which is great for the affordable Pixel series, with a slightly updated design, the latest Tensor chipset, and the same formula that made previous  phones great value for money. But how will one of the most important aspects of a modern smartphone – Google Pixel 9a smartphone battery life – evolve on the Pixel 9a? The latest Tensor G4 may improve battery life, but as usual, the biggest factor is battery size. Judging by the rumors, Google may be doing something amazing with the Pixel 9a!

Even the Pixel 9 has a smaller battery, at 4,700mAh. In fact, the only phone currently available with a battery of similar capacity to the Pixel 9 battery is the Pixel 9 Pro XL battery, which has a 5,060mAh battery.
This could actually make the Pixel 9a one of Google’s phones with the largest batteries ever. Of course, this would have a significant impact on potential battery life, which could top the battery life charts.
The reason for the big jump in battery capacity could be the significant improvement in the energy density of the batteries in the upcoming phones. Lithium-silicon battery technology is advancing very rapidly, allowing for denser, higher-capacity batteries in a similar form factor to standard lithium-ion batteries. Many phone manufacturers are using this type of battery in their phones today: OnePlus, Vivo, Honor, and other Chinese phone vendors are already using this new technology in their devices. While we don’t know for sure if this Pixel 9a battery will make it to the Pixel 9a, it’s a good guess as to where the affordable Pixel line is headed. Google could be testing higher density batteries for its next flagship, which could mean some very exciting potential upgrades for the milestone Pixel 10 series!

Life TestsWe measure the Asus Chromebook Plus CX34 Laptop Battery life by looping a locally stored 720p video (the public short film Tears of Steel) immediately after unplugging the power cord. The video is viewed in full-screen mode with display brightness set to 50% and volume set to 100%. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned off, and we fully charge the laptop before testing begins. Global education must incorporate artificial intelligence and be people-centered

Human rights at the heart of AI

This year’s AI Day reminds us that unlocking the potential of AI “depends on putting human agency and human rights at the heart of this rapidly evolving technology,” the UN Secretary-General stressed, calling for guarantees that all users have the right tools and knowledge to “use this technology wisely, safely and ethically.”

UNESCO’s competency framework aims to support learners and teachers in integrating AI into their learning, while the recently adopted Global Digital Compact is expected to help ensure that humans retain control over AI development and governance.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Guterres called for a commitment to “put the humanities at the heart of education systems around the world.”

Divided views onAI

As AI is increasingly integrated into education, countries remain divided over its use. According to the latest data from UNESCO, more than two-thirds of secondary school students in high-income countries are already using generative AI tools to support their learning.

However, education professionals still face significant challenges and a lack of clear guidelines.

In May 2023, a UNESCO survey of 450 educational institutions showed that only 10% of schools and universities had an official framework for the use of AI

Meanwhile, more countries are imposing restrictions on new technologies in the classroom. The latest data from UNESCO shows that nearly 40% of countries now have laws or policies prohibiting the use of mobile phones in schools, a significant increase from 24% in July 2023.
