HP Pavilion SE 14 review: A very affordable everyday laptop

HP Pavilion SE 14 Review: What You Need to KnowHP Pavilion SE 14 The Pavilion SE series of compact laptops has long been HP’s entry-level offering for average home and business users who want a powerful, compact and, more importantly, affordable laptop. The weak spot for this laptop is the HP Pavilion SE 14 battery
life of the HP Pavilion SE 14 laptop. In our video playback test, with the laptop in Best Efficiency mode, the screen set to 170 cd/m2 and Tablet mode enabled, the rather weak 41 Wh

HP Pavilion SE 14 battery
drained after 6 hours and 30 minutes. That’s not a bad result, but it means that to get eight hours of work done, you’ll need to find a power outlet.Over the years, the internal components have been constantly updated to keep the Pavilion SE on a modern path. To that end, the latest version is based on the Intel Core i5-1335U, a processor that will be available in the first quarter of 2023. That’s a very modern chip for such a cheap laptop. All other components have been reasonably updated too, so you also get a 512GB PCIe 4 SSD, a fingerprint scanner and a 1080p webcam. The last two features are ones you won’t find on some more expensive laptops.
HP Pavilion SE 14 review: VerdictFor £450, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the HP Pavilion SE 14. Performance is decent, there are unexpected premium features like a 1080p webcam and powerful speakers, all packed into a stylish, sturdy body.
HP Pavilion SE 14 batteryThe life could be longer, the display could be better, but it’s more about value for money than exceeding expectations. As a versatile laptop for home, school or work, the HP Pavilion SE 14 ticks all the boxes.

Lenovo Tab P12 review: A mid-range tablet focused on unique ideas

The Lenovo Tab P12 is a mid-range tablet focused on media playback and creative creation. With its large, clear display and included stylus, it manages to stand out from smaller, more functional and classic competitors.Lenovo Tab P12 Tablet BatteryLife is only available with a 20W chargerFunctionally, the keyboard cover is very impressive, snapping onto a custom connector on the bottom edge of the Tab P12 with strong magnets. The mechanical typing experience is also good, and its chiclet keys have enough travel to make switching from a full-size laptop relatively painless. As long as you don’t watch it in bright light, the Tab P12 is a reliable portable player. This is thanks to four JBL speakers that are tuned for Dolby Atmos. Their sound is not the richest, but it sounds loud and clear, with good stereo separation. To be clear, the Lenovo Tab P12 is equipped with an 8Mp rear camera with autofocus support. Although it sounds a bit limited, it can take impromptu photos in ideal light in an emergency. Detail and contrast aren’t great, but they’re acceptable.Lenovo Tab P12 Battery
Life and Charging10,200mAhLenovo Tab P12 Battery
30W Fast ChargingIncludes 20W AdapterWhen a device drives a 13-inch display, you better believe it needs a big battery. Like its Pro sibling, the Lenovo Tab P12 is equipped with a massive 10,200mAhLenovo Tab P12 Battery That’s 20 minutes longer than the Pro, but a few hours less than smaller mid-range tablets like the OnePlus Pad and Xiaomi Mi Pad 5. Even the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13, which has similar proportions, managed to crack the 10-hour mark.
While the Lenovo Tab P12 appears to support up to 30W fast charging, you only get a 20W charger. That’ll get you from empty to nearly half full in an hour, and a full charge in about 2 hours and 30 minutes. You don’t want to rely on “fast charging” methods before you get through a day of use.
Software VerdictThe Lenovo Tab P12 is a little different from other mid-range Android tablets. It may not be as fast or as well-equipped as the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 or OnePlus Pad, but its focus on creativity and productivity makes it better suited for certain use cases.

Toshiba Portege X30 review: What business laptops can learn from consumer devices

Despite Toshiba’s chip business being in turmoil and its decision to stop selling consumer laptops, the company hasn’t stopped making portable computers. The company’s Portégé and Tecra laptop lines are built for businesses and workers, so they may not be as flashy as consumer devices, but they’re still important. Work laptops are many people’s primary PCs.
At first glance, the Portégé x30 has a very plain design, like an office laptop, but it incorporates some of the features we’ve seen in consumer devices recently: a thin and light construction, USB Type-C and Thunderbolt, Windows Hello, and more. It also has up to 18 hours of Toshiba Portege X30 Batterylife, which, if true, would be great for business users and regular consumers alike. The Portégé x30 is a clamshell laptop that tries to find a balance between business and consumer laptops, and in some ways it’s a good combination of the two, but in other ways it leaves something to be desired.
Look and FeelWhen you hear the words “work laptop,” a certain look comes to mind. Anyone who has used a corporate laptop in the past 15 years knows the look of these machines: a bulky, bland-looking black rectangle that’s dull in style and sometimes too heavy to comfortably carry out of the office. The Portégé x30 is a little different from the traditional “work laptop.” The lid is a simple matte black-blue with Toshiba’s silver logo in the bottom corner, and the chassis tapers from back to front, giving the device a modern feel. Each edge is thin (the notebook measures 15.9mm at its widest point), and the rounded corners combine with the matte finish to give it a friendly feel. Is it as gifted or refined as an HP Spectre or Dell XPS 13? Not exactly, but it’s simple, understated, and more attractive than work laptops of the past.
Its design is protected by a magnesium structure and an internal honeycomb structure, and the entire design passes Mil-SPEC-810G standards for extreme temperatures, vibration, shock, drops, humidity, and dust. Even at just 2.3 pounds, it really feels like a solid machine. Opening the lid reveals a matte 1920×1080p touchscreen, a full-size keyboard, and a trackpad with upper click buttons. The FHD display is more than adequate for most workers (unless you’re a creative and need a high-quality display), but given the Portégé x30’s high price, Toshiba could have gone for a slightly better panel. But as we’ve seen with other business notebooks like the HP Elitebook x360, it’s not uncommon to see high-priced business notebooks with basic FHD displays. Most pre-built Portégé x30 models come with an FHD display, but you can customize the device to a 768p display—and I don’t know why anyone would do that, other than to save money.

Another feature of the display is Windows Ink — it’s compatible with a stylus, although the x30 doesn’t come with one and Toshiba doesn’t advertise it as an optional accessory for the device. I imagine Windows Ink would come in handy if you need to mark up PDF files or take notes on shared documents, but the x30’s clamshell design isn’t ideal for handwriting input. The lid only tilts back about 130 degrees, so it’s not the most comfortable position for handwriting. Toshiba sells a convertible version of this business laptop, the Portégé X20W, which is better suited to multiple usage modes and Windows Ink.
Consumer laptops are getting smaller and smaller in terms of bezel space these days, but for business devices, that’s obviously less important. The x30’s bezels are fairly thick, measuring about 10mm on the sides, 20mm on the top, and a whopping 30mm below the display. Given what this laptop is used for, I didn’t feel like such large bezels were a rip-off in terms of screen real estate. The display still felt spacious, and I could barely feel the bezels while working. Toshiba Laptop batteryThe top bezel houses the webcam as well as the infrared camera and facial recognition sensors that support Windows Hello. If you’ve set up Windows Hello to unlock the x30 with your face, then these sensors will quickly flash bright red laser lights every time you open the device’s lid to use it. While you might be temporarily blinded the first time you do so, it’s a small price to pay for such a fast unlocking and login mechanism. While it’s hard to compare a clamshell laptop like the x30 to a convertible like the Elitebook x360, there’s something to be said for what Toshiba and HP are doing with business laptops. Toshiba’s device is a modern take on the black rectangular design of old work laptops. The Elitebook x360, however, looks like it could fit into HP’s consumer laptop lineup. Each device feels and feels different: HP’s convertible laptop can be counted as a consumer device, but Toshiba’s probably can’t, because it looks like a business device that just happens to be recognizable as a business device. And what you want in a laptop really comes down to personal preference: do you like having a laptop that looks as good as the Spectres, XPS, and MacBooks, or do you just want a portable workhorse and nothing more?

The Xperia 10 V is a super cheap smartphone right now. The 5000mAh large-capacity battery weighs only 159 grams, ultra-light and cost-effective

Sony Smartphone “Xperia 10V Battery This is an Olympic silver medal
The previous model topped our Xperia 10 V battery rankings, and I expect the Xperia 10 V to do the same. The phone comes with the same 60Hz screen and the same Snapdragon 695 processor. The Xperia 10 V won the browsing contest with an impressive time of over 28 hours. That’s 7 hours more than the previous version.
However, the Sony smartphone lost about an hour in  Sony smartphone battery life in both the video streaming test and the 3D gaming test. What gives?
After analyzing these variables, I concluded that it mainly depends on the stereo speaker setup (the sound is also 20% better) and the increase in screen brightness. The results are very impressive, don’t get me wrong; it’s just that the Xperia 10 IV was able to defend the Xperia 10 IV batterytitle, winning 2 of the 3 categories in this particular battle.Sony Xperia 10V SummarySony Xperia 10 V review: The long-distance runner

The Xperia 10 V is a great budget phone. It improves on an already great formula, adding stereo speakers, a brighter display, a slightly better main camera, and keeping the same amazing features in a very compact and lightweight package  Xperia 10 IV battery  life. However, there are some omissions worth pointing out. 60 Hz display refresh rates are a thing of the past, even on budget phones. The side-mounted fingerprint reader could use some R&D work, and the price tag pushes the price up a bit. The Snapdragon 695 is quite old now, and the lack of 4K video recording and streaming capabilities is another drawback of the Xperia 10 V.

But overall, if you like the Xperia’s aesthetics and 21:9 screen, don’t care about the refresh rate, and you need “Mo Farah” rather than “Usain Bolt,” this phone is a solid choice.

*Disclaimer: You may notice that your review score on PhoneArena has changed! As of September 20th we will be using a new scoring system. Click here to learn more about the new PhoneArena smartphone review rating system. The list price is 79,920 yen, but as of March 1, the price has been revised to 31,824 yen.
The Xperia 10 V is a unique model, with the big 5000mAh Xperia 10 V  Xperia 10 IV battery , a slim 159g, and decent speakers, but it has a fatal flaw: the SoC is a Snapdragon 695. The price is about 80,000 yen, which is too high. However, at a price of 9,840 yen, it is a super cheap and cost-effective smartphone. Don’t miss this opportunity.

Fujifilm Finepix V10 digital camera review

Photography makes socializing more fun” is Fujifilm’s slogan for its V10 camera, and its unusually high ISO sensitivity should help you take great photos after dark. Gary Wolstenholme sees if this camera can really be the life of the party. Build and handling

The V10’s body is made almost entirely of metal, but with the large screen and delicate controls on the back, it feels more like an expensive accessory than a solid device. There are no finger grips on the front, nor room for your thumb on the back. The screen takes up most of the camera’s space, and you have to reach around it. I found it almost impossible to use it with one hand, and instead had to hold it between the fingers and thumbs of both hands.

The display is protected by a shiny acrylic sheet, which can cause problems when shooting in bright conditions, as the reflective surface makes it difficult to see.

Autofocus

Two AF modes can be selected from the menu, one that locks on the center of the frame, and another that automatically selects the AF point for you. Both modes perform well and lock quickly. The center AF mode is the faster of the two, with minimal lag.

Fujifilm FinePix V10 Camera Battery  Life

It certainly takes a fair bit of juice to power the huge screen, and I managed to get about 120 shots on a fully charged Camera Battery Fujifilm before it died.

Memory Cards

The V10 uses xD memory cards, which slot into the slot next to the battery. Here are the write speeds using the Jpeg quality setting using an Olympus xD card. There are Auto, Manual, Natural Light, Portrait, Landscape, Sports, and Night exposure modes to choose from in the menu. Auto is a simple point-and-shoot shooting mode, while Manual mode allows for control over the flash mode and the amount of exposure compensation used. The rest are all automatic scene modes that adjust exposure based on your chosen subject, with the exception of the Natural Light mode, which simply disables the flash, letting you take full advantage of this camera’s wider-than-normal ISO range.

Zoom Lens

The V10’s 3.4x zoom range is a little longer than normal, equivalent to 36-130mm on a 35mm camera. Zooming is quick and precise, but I found the paddle zoom control cumbersome to use, especially since it’s perched on the bottom of the camera out of harm’s way.

I was impressed with the V10’s control of digital noise in macro mode. Images shot up to ISO400 are clean and sharp, with only a small amount of noise visible at ISO400. Noise becomes more noticeable at ISO800 and ISO1600, but it’s still usable for small prints of about 6×4 inches. Another feature of images shot at these high sensitivity settings is the heavy use of in-camera noise reduction, which smooths out speckling. Unfortunately, this also reduces detail and produces strange speckle patterns.

Conclusion

The Fuji Finepix V10 is a love-it-or-hate-it camera. The unusual operation may be enough to put some people off. That being said, the LCD screen is very good, image quality is good, and it’s simple and responsive to use.

Leica D-Lux 4 camera review

I’ve been waiting for this review. Back in November 2008, I tested what I considered to be the best compact digital camera currently available: the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3. I gave it a well-deserved 10 out of 10 and an Editors’ Choice award, and named it Compact Camera of the Year at this year’s awards ceremony. I wasn’t the only one who admired the LX3; I was one of them. She’s also won an impressive array of top awards from a number of other photography magazines and websites. I mention this because today I’m looking at the Leica D-Lux 4.

There are some obvious differences, the most obvious of which is the price. The LX3 isn’t cheap, and even 18 months after its launch it still costs around £320. However, compared to the Leica D-Lux 4, which costs between £510 and £595 depending on where you buy it, it seems like a bargain. That’s the price of a good mid-range DSLR with a kit lens. What’s so good about it?

Leica D-Lux 4 camera Battery

So is it good value for money? Like the LX3, the D-Lux 4 has excellent build quality and a simple, classic design, but there are some subtle differences. Leica is one of the oldest brands in photography, having invented the 35mm rangefinder camera format in 1923, and unsurprisingly it’s happy to benefit from this impressive heritage. Modern Leica film and digital cameras closely resemble their 90-year-old ancestors, and the D-Lux 4 also has a distinctly retro look and feel. While the overall body shape is nearly identical to the LX3, there are some subtle differences. The top plate is flat, rather than rounded like the LX3, and the D-Lux 4 lacks the comfortable front grip of the Panasonic version. The camera’s front panel is flat and simple, and doesn’t distract from the small, expensive red logo in the upper left corner. The D-Lux 4 has all of the great features of the LX3. The best of these is the excellent wide-angle lens, with an aperture of f/2.0-f/2.8, equivalent to a 2.5x zoom at 24-60mm. This lens is Leica’s main contribution to the success of the design. While some may find the limited zoom range restrictive, the fast maximum aperture gives the camera excellent low-light capabilities at all zoom settings, and the sheer optical quality gives the D-Lux 4 excellent photographic quality.

The D-Lux 4 also features the same HD video recording mode as the LX3,Leica D-Lux 4 camera Battery

Records at 1280 x 720 resolution and 24 frames per second with mono audio. Editing time is limited to 10 minutes in HD mode, and the optical zoom cannot be used while recording.

As expected, the overall performance of the D-Lux 4 is exactly the same as the LX3, which is to say it performs quite well. It starts up in just over two seconds, and in single-image mode, the shot-to-shot interval is about 1.7 seconds in the highest JPEG quality mode. When shooting in Raw mode, the shot-to-shot interval is 1.8 seconds, and even at the Raw + Fine JPEG setting, the shooting time is 2.3 seconds, which is quite fast performance by compact camera standards. “‘Conclusive’

The Leica D-Lux 4 is the ultimate luxury compact camera. It is very expensive, also because it carries the legendary Leica brand, but despite this it is still an excellent camera with a simple, classic and beautiful design, as well as excellent build quality, handling, performance and image quality. It may be identical to the Panasonic LX3 in all but name, but for some people, the name is worth the money.

HP Pavilion Laptop 16 review: A powerful, versatile laptop

The HP Pavilion Laptop 16 is a well-rounded laptop with a large display and a comfortable, spacious keyboard that’s packed with options. It also has a long HP Pavilion Laptop 16 laptop battery life and enough power to handle most casual and office applications with ease. Battery capacity: 59Wh The HP Pavilion Laptop 16 has the big visuals and full-size keyboard you’d find in a desktop-replacing gaming laptop, but it’s as portable as an Ultrabook.

HP Pavilion Laptop 16: Keyboard, Trackpad Not only is the keyboard really large, HP has done its best to pack in as many useful keys as possible. You’ll still see the familiar, usual keys like the Fn key and left and right Shift keys, just like on any other large laptop’s keyboard, but you also get a full-size number pad and dedicated Home, End, Pg Up, and Pg Down keys. HP Pavilion Laptop 16: Connectivity, Webcam The laptop has two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports, which easily accommodated my external mouse and keyboard as well as an external SSD. That leaves one USB-A port as a “floating port” for a USB stick. The two USB-C ports are useful, as they support DisplayPort 1.4 and PowerDelivery. That means you can connect an additional monitor or charge theHP Pavilion Laptop 16 laptop battery The Pavilion Laptop 16 also comes with an HDMI 2.1 port and a 3.5mm audio jack.

HP Pavilion Laptop 16 laptop battery Life

To test the laptop’s battery life, I set up a loop of a 30GB 4K video in the Windows Movies & TV app. But first I did quite a bit of setup: I charged it to 100%, turned the volume down to 50%, activated airplane mode, and adjusted the brightness.

Running power-hungry apps and programs will likely reduce the runtime to closer to 10 hours. Regardless, it’s good to know that the Pavilion Laptop 16 can last a full day if you need it to.

HP Pavilion Laptop 16: Conclusion

The HP Pavilion Laptop 16 has a large screen and a full-size keyboard, making it a desktop-replacing gaming laptop while being as portable as an Ultrabook. It also has well-rounded performance, making it suitable for both leisure and work.

The Pavilion Laptop 16 can also be used for light gaming, preferably only games that are not graphically demanding. In fact, if you are looking for an affordable, feature-rich laptop that feels easy on the hands, the HP Pavilion Laptop 16 is a good choice.

Asus VivoBook S510 review: Weak battery life holds this powerful ultralight back

With a thin chassis, a large display, an Intel Core i7 processor, and a midrange price, the Asus VivoBook S510 aims to be a stylish and spacious Ultrabook for those who like to get things done. While we were impressed by its look, feel, and flexibility for everyday office tasks, the S510 fell short in one key area:

Asus VivoBook S510 Laptop Battery

Life. The S510’s viewing angles are decent. Yes, the screen dims noticeably when viewed from center, left, right, or up or down at about a 30-degree angle, but charts, documents, and images remain clear, and colors don’t invert when you tilt the screen upward. Keyboard, Trackpad, Speakers, and Webcam

The S510 has a large, backlit keyboard with typical chicklet-style keys. The keys themselves are quite responsive, with a moderate amount of travel and a slightly concave feel. Typists who are used to hitting the keyboard hard (I raise my hand) may notice a bit of flex in the middle of the keyboard, though. Overall Performance

The VivoBook S510’s Core i7-7500U’s performance is predictable for a dual-core chip: responsive for everyday work but sluggish for more demanding, CPU-intensive tasks that quad-core Ultrabooks can easily handle

Asus VivoBook S510 Laptop Battery

Life

Battery life is the most interesting, not to mention disappointing, aspect of the Asus VivoBook S510. We test laptop battery life by looping a 4K video file using the Windows 10 Movie & TV app with the volume turned down to half (we kept a pair of headphones plugged in) and the display set to about 250 nits. For the S510, that means the brightness setting is nearly maxed out. Normally, we’d expect a laptop of the VivoBook’s size and weight to last eight or nine hours on our

Asus VivoBook S510 Laptop Battery

rundown test. Unfortunately, the S510 lasted just under five hours.

What’s going on? According to Windows Task Manager, the S510’s CPU speed rarely exceeded 1.5GHz during testing (and was actually much lower than the CPU’s idle speed of around 2.5GHz), so an overactive processor isn’t the culprit. A more likely culprit is the 15.6-inch 1080p display, which must be cranked up to meet our minimum standards for room brightness.

Conclusion

The $799 VivoBook S510 looks tempting, with a 15-inch display, strong productivity features, and a generous selection of ports, all crammed into a sleek 3.7-pound chassis. Unfortunately, theAsus VivoBook S510 Laptop Battery life is short, which means you’ll be searching for a power outlet sooner than expected.

Galaxy A56 will have upgraded wireless connectivity

Samsung is preparing multiple phones for next year. After launching the Galaxy S25 next month, the company may launch new Galaxy A series phones, including the Galaxy A56.
45W Galaxy A56 Phone Battery ChargingSamsung brings 45W charging to mid-range phones for the first time with the Galaxy M55Galaxy A56 comes with an updated Bluetooth versionThe unreleased Galaxy A56 recently appeared in the Bluetooth SIG database with the model number SM-A566B_DS. It features Bluetooth 5.4, an upgrade over the Galaxy A55’s Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.
This is expected, as the Exynos 1580 chip on board the Galaxy A56 has integrated Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
Bluetooth 5.4 provides more reliable wireless connections and improves power efficiency. So whether you’re using wireless headphones, Galaxy SmartTags, or Galaxy Watch, the Galaxy A56 can provide a more stable and reliable connection with these accessories.
It was previously reported that the Galaxy A56 will have other upgrades, including 45W fast charging and longer software update support. It also comes with the Exynos 1580 chip, which has four high-performance CPU cores and an upgraded Xclipse 540 GPU.
Excellent performance is not the only thing on the Galaxy A55’s impressive feature list, but as usual, Samsung decided to save some upgrades for future models. Some of these upgrades will be available on the Galaxy A56 next year, and two of them are particularly exciting.Regulatory certification has confirmed that the Galaxy A56 Smartphone Batterywill also support 45W charging. The 25W charging speed of the Galaxy A55 and older mid-range phones is not slow by any means. The 45W charging speed is not as fast as you would expect compared to 25W. But it is still a welcome upgrade, especially in the face of competition from other brands of phones that support 100W charging and higher. Then, in October, Samsung launched the budget-oriented Galaxy A16 and promised to provide six years of operating system and security updates, and most future budget and mid-range Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy A56, will also receive at least six years of firmware support. Basically, you can use the A56 until at least 2031 without worrying about software obsolescence.
