Lenovo ThinkPad X9 14 Aura Edition: Design and DisplayWe’d normally say that grey makes a laptop look bland, but this machine stands out. In terms of portability, it’s excellent, weighing just 1.24kg (relatively light for a 14-inch laptop) and measuring just 13mm at its maximum height. However, it was the 120Hz OLED screen that wowed us, with Lenovo claiming a peak brightness of up to 474cd/m², which complements the vibrant colours and deep, inky blacks.Lenovo ThinkPad X9 14 Aura Edition Battery LifeThe design and display are both excellent, but the performance is disappointing. Equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, Intel Arc graphics and a 48 TOPS Intel AI Boost NPU, this laptop doesn’t perform as well as other similar products despite being equipped with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. We suspect this is partly due to how thin and light the machine itself is. We expect the second-generation Intel chips to be much more efficient than the first.
TestingLenovo ThinkPad X9 14 Aura Edition Battery11 hours and 13 minutes of battery life. In my own testing, the laptop lasted 11 hours and 51 minutes – I would have expected much less if it were ITPro’s test. This result is disappointing and far below my expectations.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X9 14 Aura Edition is an excellent but slightly flawed machine – it’s a real pleasure to use, but it occasionally reminds us of its shortcomings. Given its excellent screen and comfortable typing experience, we highly recommend it if you don’t often work without power. For example, it’s great for commuting or traveling – but if you’re out and about in meetings all day, you might feel a little tired without a power outlet.Lenovo ThinkPad X9 14 Aura Edition Batterypower outlet.
