iPhone 13: missing features we are still waiting for

With longer battery life, better cameras, new movie modes and more basic storage space, iPhone 13 has many advantages over its predecessors. Although there are many advantages regarding the iPhone 13, it lacks several features that we hope to see from Apple’s latest smartphone. Because many of these features are available on Android competitors, while others can be found on different Apple devices.

Here are the features that iPhone 13 lacks, let’s take a look!

USB-C support

Apple’s latest iPhone again lacks a USB-C connection. As has been the case since 2012, the latest iPhone requires Apple’s proprietary Lightning data cable for wired charging. This not only means that you can’t use the chargers of other gadgets to charge your iPhone, but it also means that the chargers of other Apple mobile devices may not be compatible with your iPhone.

In-screen fingerprint reader

Face ID works well in most situations, but you can also choose to use your fingerprint to unlock the device. This has been especially true in the past year and a half, because Face ID cannot accurately identify you as you are wearing a mask. Many Android phones, such as Samsung, Motorola, and OnePlus phones, have built-in fingerprint readers in their screens.

Satellite connection

A few weeks before its release, one of the most prominent rumors about the iPhone 13 was that it will be equipped with satellite connectivity to send texts in an emergency. It turns out that this is not true, at least not now.

Support Wi-Fi 6E

Wi-Fi 6E is a special name for Wi-Fi 6 devices. Wi-Fi 6E is still a new product. Allowing them to access the new 6GHz frequency band is not currently a must. However, since many people buy the iPhone to keep it for several years, it would be helpful to see support for Wi-Fi 6E in at least the Pro and Pro Max models. Although not many smartphones currently support Wi-Fi 6E. But Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of them, and we have seen ASUS and Netgear routers support 6E. If you want to pay for a top-tier iPhone, at least a Wi-Fi 6E connection will be useful.

Always-on display

My Apple Watch has an always-on display, I just want my iPhone to do it too. For many years, the screens of smartphones from Samsung, OnePlus, and other Android device manufacturers can display information on the screen even when the display is asleep. Most phones with a always-on display will show information such as the time and the next calendar event when the display is off. This information is clear at a glance and makes it easier for me to see the time of the next meeting without actually picking up the phone, which helps to avoid distractions. If you don’t have a smartwatch, the always-on display can make it easier to quickly view a small amount of information while keeping a certain distance from your phone.
