Tailor your iMessage settings
It’s a good idea to open the message’s settings screen and spend a few minutes browsing the various options and customizing how the message works. Most importantly, double check your sending and receiving settings. This is a simple solution: don’t use your email address, just use your phone number in the “send and receive” section of “message settings”. If you don’t have an iPhone, but use iMessage on your Mac and iPad, make sure your send and receive settings look the same.
Back up iMessage via iCloud
Continuously back up your iMessage conversations and sync them on all your Apple devices. Apple uses iCloud to back up and sync your Messages conversations (including text messages). The short version of the command looks like this: open settings> click your name> iCloud and make sure the toggle switch next to the message is turned on (if you delete the conversation from one device, it will be deleted from all your devices)
Hide alerts, block numbers from sending you messages, etc.
It’s easy to send and receive messages in the Messages app, and it’s easy to distinguish between iMessages and text messages—if the message you send is green, it’s a text message. If the bubble is blue, you are talking to another iMessage user. You can search for photos, links, attachments, and text in conversations in the “Messages” app. Just open the messaging app and click on the search bar at the top.
Send money to iPhone users via Apple Pay
You can use Apple Pay to send and receive money in iMessage conversations, just like Venmo or Square Cash. The process is simple-set up Apple Pay Cash and link the debit card to your account. With Apple Pay settings, you can use the Apple Pay app in iMessage to pay rent, or use it to randomly send someone enough cash to pay for a cup of coffee.

Another interesting tool is the emoji converter. After entering the message, you click the emoji button on the keyboard, and iOS will automatically find words that can be converted into emojis. It’s very cool, and it’s an easy way to use emojis without having to scroll through all the emojis.

Set up Memoji profile
Speaking of personality, you may have noticed that you can now use Memoji to set your own profile icon. Open the “Messages” application, click the three-dot icon in the upper right corner, and then click “Edit Name” and “Photo” to edit your photo and contact name.
Use read receipts only for important people
iMessage can disable read receipts for everyone who sends me a message, but turn them on for specific contacts. In this way, if I receive a message from a friend or colleague, I won’t feel the need to respond the moment I open the message. To open a read receipt for a single contact, open the iMessage thread and tap the contact photo at the top of the screen. Next, click on the message, and then turn on Send read receipt. The same option can be used in reverse, if you want to keep read receipts for everyone, you can use it to turn off read receipts for specific contacts.
Chat with businesses via iMessage to resolve customer service issues
Friends, colleagues, and acquaintances are not the only people you can talk to through iMessage. Companies that use Apple Business Chat are easy to spot, and most companies have a “Chat with Message” button listed on their respective support pages or applications. Just click on it to open the conversation.
Set up iMessage
When you set up an Apple device (whether it’s an iPhone, iPad, or Mac), you’ll be asked to log in to your iCloud account with your Apple ID. After logging in, Apple will automatically open iMessage and link it to the email address you used for your Apple ID and your iPhone phone number. If you only use iMessage on a device that does not have a phone number, such as a Mac or iPad, iMessage will rely on your email address. Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone or iPad, then go to “Messages” and make sure the switch labeled iMessage at the top of the screen is in the “On” position.
