The Honor MagicBook Art 14 is a gorgeous ultraportable laptop with a modular camera. Made from aerospace-grade magnesium alloy, the Emerald Green laptop is an absolute eye-catcher. Finally, a laptop that isn’t black, gray, white, or blue. OEMs took notice.
That puts it on par with the Dell XPS 13, Asus ZenBook 14 OLED, and Acer Swift 14. I was a little concerned about Honor’s projected 9.5 hours of Honor MagicBook Art 14batterylife, but I was intrigued by the six speakers and spatial audio technology. Robert A. Aside from the color, the ultralight, ultra-thin dimensions of this laptop are also absolutely eye-catching. When I first picked up this 2.3-pound, 12.5 x 8.8 x 0.45-inch device, I thought it was a prototype, but then the 14.6-inch, 3120 x 2080 OLED touchscreen showed up. Now I desperately need to review this laptop; region locks be damned.But let’s talk specs. Whenever I think of this quote, I can’t help but think of the Honor MagicBook Art 14. When I saw this stunning Honor MagicBook Art 14 laptop at the Honor booth on the IFA 2024 show floor, I was shocked and immediately jealous. Why? But what really caught my attention was the MagicBook’s webcam, or rather the lack of one.
I looked at the center of the laptop’s top bezel, looking for a camera, but there was nothing. Seeing my confusion, the Honor representative took me along the back corner of the laptop’s left side and pressed. The result was a thin green slab with a black module on top. The representative taped it to the top of the display, which automatically launched the camera app. While that was cool in itself, things got even cooler when the representative turned the camera around and took a picture of everyone behind us. It’s attached by fairly strong magnets, and you have to use a little force to disconnect the module.
