The next-generation Elite 8 Active, now available on Jabra’s website and online retailers like Amazon, not only becomes Jabra’s true flagship for sports, but also sets a new standard for the subcategory. Equipped with more powerful adaptive active noise cancellation and spatial audio, and a smart case that doubles as a Bluetooth transmitter to stream audio to the earbuds. Series staples like damage-resistant design and high Bose Headphones Battery life also remain unchanged.

The control scheme has not changed, nor have some of the shortcomings of the first-gen version. Even so, the Elite Active 8 (2nd Gen) are undoubtedly the best fitness earbuds, performing well in multiple verticals and outperforming the best-selling Beats Fit Pro.

Almost all functions are operated through the Jabra Sound+ app. Here, you’ll find all the main audio features, including EQ, music presets, sound modes (ANC/Hearthrough), and spatial sound. Call Experience lets you adjust different settings for voice calls (equalizer, sidetone), MyControls is for control customization, and Soundscapes has multiple audio clips for stress relief. The app also includes a Jabra Elite 8 Active Gen 2 Headphones Battery level indicator, Find My Jabra (earbuds), firmware updates, and a sleep timer feature.

There are special wireless features outside of the app, such as Bluetooth Multipoint and one-touch pairing for Android and Windows devices. The original Elite 8 Active was an excellent headset for making calls, and the sequel is no exception. Most calls were met with positive feedback. My wife complimented me on how loud and clear I sounded. The ANC worked well on voice and video calls, which, oddly, wasn’t the case with the more powerful Elite 10 (2nd Gen).

Their products can only stand out more if they add a little “uniqueness”. Between black, white and purple, I will always choose purple. There is nothing wrong with primary colors, but they are everywhere. This sounds trivial and like I’m nitpicking, but I couldn’t get used to it during testing, or I firmly believe that the design of the Pro earphones is correct and the design of the FreeBuds 6i is wrong. If I remember correctly, this is a long-standing problem in the series.

Despite the small size, the operability can be better. With the FreeBuds Pro, we swiped and tapped on the side of the earphones, while with the FreeBuds 6i, we swiped and tapped on the front, which is not very responsive and annoying because we move the entire earphone with it. Swipe to change the volume, long press to switch between transparent mode and ambient noise cancellation, and double/triple tap to pause, play, skip, rotate or answer calls. I miss the single-tap gesture, which is usually used to pause, double-tap to skip to the next track, and triple-tap to return to the previous track. This seems more intuitive to me.

But if you’re constantly putting the earphones in and out of the case, there’s a good chance they won’t fully charge between uses and will slowly drain. The charging case gives the earphones an additional 16 hours of use with ANC on, for a total listening time of 20 hours. That’s not bad, but again, not great.
Of course, the fact that the earphones have wireless charging does soften the blow a bit. Wireless charging is very convenient for earphones like this. That being said, unlike the AirPods 3, the AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation can’t be charged with a MagSafe charger. This is actually because theApple AirPods Headphones Battery
The charging case is too small for the magnets to align properly. You can still place them on any Qi charger that doesn’t rely on magnets to hold the device in place, and they can still be charged with an Apple Watch puck. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the lack of MagSafe, as that’s actually how I charge my AirPods Pro quite often. But I guess portability is more important for a product like this. Unlike the basic AirPods 4, the AirPods 4 with ANC also have a speaker built into the charging case. This is to help you find the charging case more easily when using the “Find” feature to find the charging case, but it also makes a small sound to indicate charging, etc. Apple has done a good job of improving the sound quality of the AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with ANC. It really makes a big difference. The earphones offer deeper bass response and better high-end clarity and detail, making for a more exciting and impactful listening experience. The bass response is deeper and rounder than before, which helps a lot. This change means that the kick drum will stand out better in the mix, while bass synths and guitars will sound fuller and deeper. If you don’t really need those Apple-centric features, though, it’s worth considering alternatives like the Nothing Ear earbuds, which are among my favorite wireless earbuds, and the AirPods, which offer longer Apple AirPods Headphones Battery life, slightly better sound quality, and a slew of other great features for $149.

At first glance, Sennheiser’s new Momentum True Wireless 2 look pretty much the same as their predecessor, but don’t be fooled into thinking the German manufacturer is resting on its laurels.
Its second-generation true wireless earbuds improve on the original with active noise cancellation (ANC), significantly improved battery life, and a slimmer design that puts them on par with the best true wireless earbuds on the market.

Like most true wireless earbuds, the Sennheiser True Wireless 2 come with a case that both protects the earbuds and charges the batteries of the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 earbuds when not in use. Sennheiser claims the earbuds will last up to seven hours on a single charge, with an additional 21 hours when using the case, which itself charges via USB-C. Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 Headphone battery : Design, Comfort and AppsDespite Sennheiser’s claims of improved ergonomics for its True Wireless earbuds, in reality, the design has barely changed since the first version, aside from being noticeably smaller. In many ways, that’s a good thing, but when it comes to comfort, I was impressed.
Because of the large housing, it can take a little while to find the best angle to insert the earbuds into your ear canal at first. Once I got the hang of it, though, I had no trouble inserting the earbuds and was happy to wear them for hours at a time.
If I have one complaint about the design of these earbuds, it’s the same one Christopher Minasians had with the first-generation Momentum True Wireless earbuds: the finicky nature of the touch controls. The steepness of the learning curve is more irritating with these earbuds than anything else. In fact, because you need to have fairly precise and nimble fingers, I initially found myself tapping the right earbud once to activate Google Assistant, or twice to enable Transparency mode, rather than tapping three times to turn ANC on and off.
You can also turn the earbuds’ various smart features on or off through the mobile app. The Smart Pause feature, which automatically pauses music when you remove an earbud from your ear, is enabled by default, as is the Auto Answer Call feature, which answers calls as soon as you remove the right earbud from the charging case. Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2: Sound Quality, Transparency Mode, and ConnectivityThe mobile app also allows you to customize the earbuds’ EQ, which is a nice feature if you’re someone who likes to tinker with this sort of thing, but I didn’t find it necessary.
When reviewing the original, Chris declared them the best-sounding true wireless earphones he’d ever heard, and after a few days with the True Wireless 2, I can say the same about the new model.
Unsurprisingly, with the hardware remaining largely unchanged, the True Wireless 2s are every bit as impressive as their predecessors. More specifically, they offer a sense of space that belies their design, and have excellent instrument separation that helps make for a truly engaging listening experience. The feature is undoubtedly a welcome addition, but the effect wanes as the volume increases, more so than with over-ear or in-ear headphones. If you’re the type of person who always listens to music loudly, then this feature may not be essential for you.
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2: ReviewAside from these and a few other minor quibbles, I’ve been very happy with my experience with the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2s. In fact, I haven’t bought any other earphones, wireless or otherwise, since receiving them, which is a testament to how good the sound quality and comfort of these earphones are.

New wireless headphones are released every day (or at least it feels like that), but from time to time we have the opportunity to see if the successors of the industry’s best headphones can continue their glorious history, right? There may not be many situations in life where you spend a lot of money for something smaller, but the WF-1000XM5s are noticeably smaller and lighter than their predecessor. So it’s fair to say that they’re better than the previous model in the “unobtrusive, comfortable earphones” department.

Of course, the sound quality is not as good as audiophile-centric consumer headphones like the Sennheiser Momentum 4. However, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra sound is definitely fuller than the XM5 headphones and clearer than the AirPods Max.
