ASUS ROG Phone 9 confirmed to be released in November, equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite processor

Asus has confirmed that its ROG Phone 9 gaming smartphone series will be released for global markets on November 19. Early leaks have revealed key details about the device.
Asus promises that the new chip will be able to “push the boundaries of mobile gaming with industry-leading speed, performance, and game-changing graphics”. According to Qualcomm, the new Snapdragon 8 Elite will feature the most powerful mobile CPU currently available, which means it will be able to outperform Apple’s A16 Pro in the iPhone 18 Pro.
K-Tai Watch Impress Japan recently shared a report confirming that the ROG Phone 9 will be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is expected to offer high-performance gaming capabilities. Judging from the benchmarks we’ve seen so far of other smartphones using the Snapdragon 8 Elite, we can expect the device to have a significant leap in performance over its predecessor. It is also said that thanks to the new chip, the device’sAsus ROG Phone 9Battery
power consumption will also be reduced by up to 30%.
A hands-on video of the device has also been leaked, showcasing a more premium build and hinting at improved materials and design over its predecessor. The overall design language will remain similar to the ROG Phone 8. Further details on the design changes and additional features are still limited. Earlier, the ROG Phone 9 Pro appeared in a China Quality Certification Center (CQC) listing with 65WAsus ROG Phone 9Battery
charging, the same as the existing ROG Phone 8 series. While we expect improved specifications, there is also a chance that ASUS will focus on the gaming part, improving features like Air Triggers and heat management. You can check out the specifications of its predecessor below.
ASUS ROG Phone 8 SpecificationsThe ROG Phone 8 features a 6.78-inch 165Hz LTPO Samsung E6 AMOLED display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and Adreno 750 GPU. It offers up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
In terms of cameras, it features a triple rear camera system with a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor and a 32MP front camera for selfies. The phone is backed by a 5,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. Other gaming-oriented features include a responsive AirTrigger button, IP68 dust and water resistance, and a high-quality 5-magnet speaker system.
The Asus ROG Phone 9 is set to be released soon, and gamers should pay attention. The Asus ROG Phone 9 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, with a second-generation Qualcomm Oryon CPU and Adreno GPU. Asus says the chip will “break the boundaries of mobile gaming with industry-leading speed, performance, and game-changing graphics.”
The Oryon CPU looks pretty powerful, with two performance cores clocked at 4.32Ghz. Qualcomm says the Oryon CPU offers a 45% improvement in single-core and multi-core performance, and a 40% improvement in gaming performance. Asus called the launch event “AI, Game On,” so the phone may offer new AI features.

If the Asus ROG Phone 9 increases RAM and storage like the ROG Phone 8 Pro, we may be looking at a pretty decent update for the ROG Phone. It will also be interesting to see if Asus launches a Pro version of the ROG Phone 9. All information will be revealed on November 19.
