For any new version of Android, the exciting thing is of course what new features Google introduces! Let’s take a look!
Here are all the features confirmed for the new operating system:
The operating system is more colorful
The customizable color palette runs through the entire phone, from the lock screen to your actual application. You can set these five color palettes yourself, or you can let your phone create one for you by dynamically picking colors from the phone wallpaper.
Faster actions and animations
The interface is also more dynamic and responsive. Turn on the screen with the power button, the indicator light will ripple from the button, and if you don’t have a notification, your lock screen clock will expand to fill the space. All of this will also be smoother and faster, thanks to the underlying improvements, which reduce the CPU time required for core system services by up to 22%, and reduce the use of large cores by system servers by up to 15%.
New privacy features
In addition to design, the biggest set of changes in Android 12 are related to privacy and security, most of which first appeared in the second public beta.
The first is a new privacy dashboard designed to be a one-stop shop for all your data privacy; let you know which data is accessed, when and by which applications-and you can choose to revoke application permissions immediately.
The new microphone and camera icons will indicate when the app is used, so you won’t be caught off guard.
If you want to be more careful, you can use the new quick setting switch to completely block camera and/or microphone access for all applications at once to ensure privacy.
There is also a new “approximate location” permission so that you can provide more obscure location data to apps that don’t need to know exactly where you are, such as weather apps.
