You can manually install Windows 11 on older PCs, but you won’t!

Are you happy to hear that you can install Windows 11 on older PCs, but why do I say you won’t? Next look down!

Excuse me, if you were to sacrifice your computer to install the new windows 11, would you be willing?

The company said in an interview with The Verge on Friday that if the old PC is rejected by Windows Update, it can install Windows 11 by downloading the ISO file. The reasons why the official update tool rejects your laptop or desktop include an old CPU or lack of TPM 2.0 support.

Windows fans who received the news rejoiced until Microsoft clarified that those using the ISO method would abandon the update. It is particularly disturbing that those missing updates may include security patches designed to protect your system from malicious software.

This means that manually installing Windows 11 on an older PC may leave your system open for an attack somewhere. This is not a risk we recommend anyone to take, and frankly, I would be surprised if Microsoft gave users the option to download its flagship consumer products and then let them protect themselves from cyber attacks.

If it were you, would you continue to choose to update? Or should I continue to use Windows 10 to change the computer later and then use Windows 11?
