The Medion Major X10 is a very good 16-inch gaming laptop. It is the first laptop we have reviewed to feature Intel Arc A730M graphics.
The laptop is powered by a Core i7-12700H, a 14-core processor that is very popular in gaming laptops.
The internals of the device are fixed in the same way as most gaming laptops. The bottom cover of the laptop can be opened after removing 11 Phillips screws at the bottom.
It is equipped with two SODIMM slots, two M.2 slots (both under the bottom cover), a wireless module, and a Medion Erazer Major X10 laptop battery
Not only does it come with 32GB of dual-channel memory (2 x 16GB DDR5-4800), it also comes with 1TB of NVMe storage.
From the outside, the Major X10 is reminiscent of Lenovo’s Legion series. Medion has opted for a matte black body with an aluminum casing. However, it lasted a respectable 6.5 hours when browsing the web over Wi-Fi at medium screen brightness.
If you don’t mind the lack of a Thunderbolt port and card reader, you should be happy with the laptop’s port selection. The laptop has three USB Type-A ports and two Type-C ports (with DisplayPort compatibility), all but one of which support 3.2 Gen 2. It also has a combo audio jack (headphones and microphone), an RJ45 Ethernet port, and an HDMI 2.0 output. Since the most important ports are located on the back of the laptop, you don’t have to worry about limiting your mobility when using an external mouse.Our Wi-Fi test results were unsurprising (the laptop was 1 meter away from an Asus AXE11000 reference router). As expected, the device’s built-in Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 module provided very high transmission speeds.
