Sony has announced its Inzone series of gaming headsets for PC and PlayStation gamers, offering headsets at a variety of price points. The company recently sent us the Inzone H5 for review, and the headset promises to offer some great features at a mid-range price.
The H5 is the latest headset after the existing H3, H7, and H9 models. It is wireless and powerful like the H7 and H9. I have a lot to say about the Inzone H5, so let’s get started.
Note: My review is based on my experience on a Windows PC. Sony Inzone H5: Design
According to the official description, the Sony Inzone H5 headset weighs just 260 grams. The left ear cup features a USB-Type C port for

charging, and comes with an LED indicator as well as a flip-out microphone (not removable) and a volume slider. Meanwhile, the right side has a power button and a game/chat mix button. I primarily use wired headsets for gaming, and the experience of switching to this wireless headset has been great so far.
Sony Inzone H5 ReviewThe H5 is lightweight and comfortable, and sits very comfortably on my head. This is thanks to its plastic body with a minimalist design. While the body doesn’t feel premium, it feels sturdy and not at all flimsy. It also comes in a matte finish, and I reviewed the black option (I highly recommend the white model). I often found myself getting up to grab something without taking the headphones off because they felt so seamless. I’d walk out of the room while playing Discord, chatting with friends, and grabbing a bite to eat or a drink of water.
Sony Inzone H5 ReviewGoing back to wiredThe Sony Inzone H5 headphones will be difficult because the H5 has gotten me used to them. There is thick and comfortable padding on the headband, and the ear cups are made of a soft fabric material. I didn’t feel any discomfort even after wearing them for hours on end. Gaming sessions can be long, and I usually wear headphones to listen to music while I work, which means this comfortable design is very welcome. You can even adjust the headband to fit any head shape, and a quick tap of the power button tells you the remaining

Sound Quality and Gaming ExperienceAs a gaming headset, the main focus is on the gaming experience. Sony is a veteran in the audio field, and their expertise is also evident in uses outside of video games. I admit that it is not the best choice for audiophiles, but it has a good bass, is well-balanced, and has clear mids and highs. The Sony Inzone H5 is equipped with 40mm drivers and has a frequency response range of 5Hz to 20kHz. The experience of listening to music is surprisingly enjoyable, but I recommend purchasing the Inzone Hub app.
As for connectivity, you can connect the headset to a 2.4GHz USB Type-A adapter, which also comes with a slider that allows the headset to connect to PC and PS5/PS4 simultaneously. Unfortunately, the H5 lacks Bluetooth connectivity. This would make the headset more versatile and we can only hope that its future generations will be equipped with it. Users can connect it to the PC via the 3.5mm audio jack for wired mode.
ConclusionAll in all, the Sony Inzone H5 is a great wireless headset for gamers. Its build quality ensures a lightweight, seamless and comfortable experience. The overall sound quality is good and it is great for playing games. The experience will be greatly improved in future generations if Bluetooth support and a better microphone are provided.
