Samsung didn’t try to make the Galaxy M35 stand out in design, nor did it try to make it thin. Even for a phone with a 6,000 mAhGalaxy M35 phone battery it’s thick and heavy. The M34 also had a 6,000 mAh battery, but was 0.3mm thinner and about 15g lighter. I’m guessing the M35’s larger vapor cooling chamber (more on that later) and slightly larger display (6.6 inches versus 6.5 inches on the M34) may have something to do with the increased thickness and weight. The phone also has a large footprint, mostly due to the large bezels, which is common among Samsung’s midrange phones, even premium ones like the Galaxy A55. Camera The Galaxy M35 has some impressive features, but an impressive camera isn’t one of them. Daylight outdoor photos taken by the 50MP main camera and the 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera are decent, although the latter doesn’t allow for much detail to be discerned. For the 50MP rear camera, the Galaxy M35 includes many of the shooting modes found on more expensive devices, such as Pro mode for images and videos, slow and super slow motion, time-lapse, and single shot.
While Samsung brought the Google Circle search feature to the Galaxy A35 and a few other A-series phones, the rest of the Galaxy AI experience is limited to flagship devices and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future.
As for software updates, Samsung promises four major Android OS upgrades and security updates over five years, which is impressive and unmatched by the competition.
Battery life is excellent, as you’d expect from a Galaxy phone with a 6,000 mAh Galaxy phone battery. It lasted a full day, even with lots of gaming and using 5G mobile data. During the review period, I never had to charge the phone before early afternoon the next day.
However, the Exynos 1380 chipset lacks the efficiency of the newer mid-range Exynos chips and the latest flagship Snapdragon processors. Samsung Phone Battery
life is rated at up to two days, but the M35 doesn’t quite live up to those claims. At least not for me.
If you have the right charger (not surprising given that Samsung doesn’t include one in the box), the M35 supports 25W charging, and a full charge can take anywhere between 90 and 100 minutes. A half-hour charge takes the Galaxy M35 battery from 0 to around 45 percent.
The Galaxy M35 is a great value for the money. It has a great display, stronger Gorilla Glass protection, good performance (and good cooling thanks to a large vapor chamber), great Galaxy M35 battery life, and the promise of four major OS upgrades.
