Razer Blade 15 (9th Gen) review: Still as sharp as ever

Sharp as everThe design of the updated Razer Blade 15 hasn’t changed much since last year when Razer introduced a revamped, angular design that’s sleeker than before. Sure, the laptop’s dimensions did change a bit, but those adjustments are minor in the millimeter range, and the overall look of the laptop remains largely the same.
The Blade 15 now comes in two flavors—the base model and the “Premium” model (without any special designation). The former only supports up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU and, at 19.9mm, is thicker than its more powerful siblings. It does have something the Premium model doesn’t, though, which is a Gigabit Ethernet port.
The Premium model, meanwhile, will feature an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU and offer more advanced display options, including a screen with up to a 240Hz refresh rate. How’s the battery life on the 80WhRazer Blade 15 Laptop Battery?
I tested the battery life using PCMark 10’s new Modern Office and Gaming

Life benchmarks. All laptops had their display brightness set to 100 percent and Wi-Fi enabled. Keyboard backlighting was disabled.
Battery life on the Blade 15 is decent for a laptop in this class, thanks to its 80Wh battery. It’s still a ways off from truly being the best in its class, though, as both Acer and Gigabyte’s Razer Blade 15 laptops last longer. In our portability index, which takes into account factors like chassis size, weight, andRazer Blade 15 laptop batterylife, the Blade 15 fared pretty well. It lost out to the Acer and Gigabyte laptops, but it’s still much better than the likes of the Lenovo Legion Y740. To sum it up — it’s not amazing, but it’s OK.
One thing to note is that the Blade 15’s surface temperatures were noticeably higher than competing laptops. I measured the temperatures after running 40 rounds of 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme, which gave the laptop plenty of time to perform.
That being said, while the Blade 15 can get pretty hot, I wouldn’t be too concerned. It gets warm, but not uncomfortably so, and more importantly, the WASD cluster doesn’t overheat.
