Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has taken a major step towards establishing an independent brand. After launching its flagship Redmi K20 Pro and K20 models, Redmi is entering the laptop market with the new RedmiBook 14. This new laptop offers powerful internal features in a portable form factor, suitable for professionals on the go.
Internally, the RedmiBook 14 will offer up to an Intel Core i7 (8565U) and NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics. There are also a couple of cheaper i5 options. You can choose up to 512GB of SSD storage. The new notebook comes with an efficient cooling system, and theRedmiBook 14 laptop battery lasts up to 10 hours. It supports ultra-low power standby as well as Xiaomi’s Smart Unlock 2.0, which lets you unlock the RedmiBook 14 with your Mi Band 3 in just 1.2 seconds. Other features include DTS surround sound and genuine Microsoft Office Home and Student Editions. The RedmiBook 14 is indeed a compelling offering in the laptop space. In pursuit of diversification, expect Redmi to launch more of these products in the coming months.
The RedmiBook 14 will run parallel to Xiaomi’s own Mi Notebooks and features a full metal sandblasted anodized body. This RedmiBook 14 laptop features a 14-inch Full HD display with narrow bezels of 5.75 mm and a screen-to-body ratio of up to 81.2%. The screen has an anti-glare matte coating to ensure good display during the day. The Redmi notebook is relatively light at only 1.5 kg and comes with a 19mm full-size keyboard. Unlike the new MacBook, the RedmiBook has many ports such as HDMI, 2 x USB 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB 2.0 port.
