Insta360 One X2 camera review: Capture everything, edit and share later

I've been using the Insta360 One X2 camera for the past few months, which is both an action camera and a 360-degree camera, so you can capture the world around you in a variety of ways and share it with others who can't explore it the same way. I've spent time running, hiking, biking, walking, and watching Formula 1 with the Insta360 One X2, and it hasn't let me down.

Camera SoftwareYou can charge the Insta360 One X2, insert a microSD card (up to 1TB), and start recording without connecting any smartphone. The circular LCD touchscreen supports taps and swipes, so when you first turn on the camera it shows its current view. Tapping once shows various status indicators. When these indicators are shown, swipe from the top and swipe down to find several controls. Swipe left and right to see all the controls. These controls include display brightness, lock mode, LED toggle, AirPods connection, microphone mode, voice control, and more settings. There are a variety of creative possibilities with the Insta360 One X2, including stop-motion blending, clone trails, flying time-lapse photography, and more.

I also received the adhesive lens protectors, but they tend to hurt image/video quality and aren't worth using. The premium lens protectors look like a better option for protecting the lens from damage. The Bullet Time package includes a tripod grip that can be used as a tabletop tripod or a handle to swivel the camera. Another attachment mounts to the end of the tripod and acts as a swing-out swivel arm, but can also be used as a stealth selfie stick.
The 360-degree camera has proven to be very useful for work, and our ship inspections are more valuable when we can capture everything in the space instead of just bits and pieces of the cabin. The Insta360 makes it easy to capture content and then edit it to perfection. I also love that I can wear my Coros Vertix 2 and control the Insta360 One X2 directly from my watch.
